Surrey Joinery Specialists were tasked with replacing an old single glazed drafty sliding sash window with a new double glazed one with built in draft excluders.
Once the old rotten window has been removed the opening is made ready for the new frame to be installed.
Once the new frame is in and fixed, the sash cords and weights are attached ready to be fixed to the new sliding windows.
Once the sliding windows are attached to the cords the draft proof beads and architrave are fixed, and it is all lightly sanded and top coated. Then the brass sash pulls are fitted along with a fitch fastener.
Surrey joinery specialists were tasked with replacing the old drafty single glazed metal windows to this period property with new heat efficient double glazed ones. This was achieved by making the new windows from American white oak and fitting them with 20mm Argon filled low-E double glazed sealed units, giving the new windows a B-C rating on the energy efficiency rating. Draft seal strip has been installed in the manufacture process to the frame and they were supplied and installed with 3 coats of saddolin’s clear weathershield to protect from rain and UV.
